Let’s Get Mental!

Let’s get mental today! Our minds are instrumental in determining the quality of our lives. Think about what you’re thinking about. Choose to think about the Word of God. Ponder it! Reflect on it! Meditate – It will lead you into a more blessed, fulfilled life. I’ve laid out a few scriptures below… Many of them you’ve heard or read before… but the idea is not to just read them once and forget about them — spend time really absorbing the power that’s in them… let it seep deep down… We have to go over them again and again –  “8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things (Philippians 4:8).”

This is where we get built up. This is how the devil loses ground in our minds. Invest the time. We’ve heard it many of times said before that the mind is the battlefield. Satan is fighting for ground in your mind. He wants your sanity, your peace, and your total well being. He wants to keep you full of fear, self-doubt, anxiety, distrust and unforgiveness. Satan comes to still, kill, and destroy. He wants to make your life a living Hell. But Gods word promises us just the opposite. He promises us a life worth living (Proverbs 3:2, AMP). He promises us peace, “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee (Isaiah 26:3).”

Satan is so subtle — most of the time the ongoing attack on our minds, self-worth, and mental stability happens so fast, we don’t even realize its him pulling the strings … You look up and you’re depressed, despondent, and discouraged — amongst other things. You’re ready to throw in the towel! But let me tell you brother or sister that you don’t have to take it! Once you’ve made the Lord of your life, you can put these principles I’m talking about into practice. You can push out the negativity with God’s word! Choose to be dismissive to distasteful thinking… Let the Lord be your anchor… Make Him your delight. The Lord promises you that He is “… a shield for me; my glory and the lifter up of mine head” (Psalms 3:3).

Friends, we’re all in the same boat. We need Him for our stability! We need Him for our vigor! We need Him in order to LIVE a life worth living! Let these scripture encourage settle down into the deepest parts of who you are (mind, body, and spirit). God’s word is “… quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart (Hebrews 4:12).

The believer’s way out… from under whatever is distressing you — despair, mental fog, instability, and worry is the Word of God, but you’ve got to meditate on it – you’ve got to spend time daily absorbing the power that’s in it – meant to sustain you.

If you want access to these spiritual principles and you don’t know Jesus Christ as your personal savior read Romans 8:9-10, “9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

God wants you to experience wellness on every level — heart, soul and spirit. That’s His redemptive plan for mankind. Making Jesus the Lord of your life is the first step to experiencing mental and physical wellness.
